A volcano in the east Indonesia It exploded late on Thursday (20.03.2025), sending a large black cloud of ash eight kilometers to heaven, as officials increased the alarm level to the highest.
The volcano Lewotobi Laki-Laki, a 1,703-meter-high volcano volcano on the Flores island of Indonesia, exploded for 11 minutes and nine seconds, authorities said.
“The cloud of ash observed was very dense,” the Indonesian volcanic service said in a statement on the explosion that began at 22:56 pm. (1456 GMT).
There were no immediate reports of damage to nearby villages, but the service warned residents of the possibility of volcanic muddy due to heavy rainfall.
The explosion was accompanied by strong clicks heard to the city of Maumere, which is more than 80 kilometers from the volcano, as well as in the Laradoukas area, 50 km west of the mountain.
Authorities have banned access to a radius of 7-8 kilometers around the volcano.

Last November, Mount Levotobi Laki-Llak had a lot of explosions, killing nine people, canceling dozens of international flights to the Bali tourist island and forcing thousands of people to evacuate the island.
Lucky-Llakas, which in Indonesian means “man”, is twin with a more “calmer” volcano that was named after the Indonesian word for “woman”.
