After yesterday’s meeting in the White House series the leaders of the General Staffs of the countries of NATOwhich will meet tomorrow Wednesday (20/8/2025) with a teleconference to discuss the situation in Ukraine and “the progress of diplomatic efforts”, the North Atlantic Alliance said.
The heads of NATO countries and allies of Kiev, negotiate what kind of security guarantees could offer Ukraine if a peace agreement with Moscow is reached to prevent a possible new Russian attack in the country.
The discussions accelerated after a meeting last Friday (15/8/2025) in Alaska by US President Donald Trump with his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin. The White House followed the meeting between Trump, Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelenski and many European leaders on Monday.
In the coming days, there are many meetings, at various levels and shapes, to examine possible security guarantees.
Admiral Giuseppe Cavo Dragone, chaired by the NATO military committee, announced in a post on the X platform that the leaders of the 32 -member member of the alliance members will meet tomorrow.
Tomorrow via videoconference, I’ll host a meeting of the Chiefs of Defence of the 32 Allied Nations.
Gen Grynkewich, SACEUR, will also attend, his first participation to a Military Committee meeting.

It is recalled earlier today, the so -called “alliance of willing”, about 30 European countries, mainly European, supporting Ukraine, to find out about what was decided at the Alaska Summit and yesterday’s “mini summit” of Washington.
