NYT: European leaders invited to participate in the Trump and Zelenski meeting at White House on Monday

European leaders have been invited to participate in the meeting between Donald Trump and Volodimir Zelenski in the White House according to the New York Times.

The meeting between US President Donald Trump and his Ukrainian counterpart Volodimir Zelenski will take place on Monday, August 18th at the White House at the Alaska Putin Summit in Alaska Summit.

It should be noted that US President Donald Trump said on Saturday, August 16, that Ukraine should agree on an agreement on the end of war with Russia, because “Russia is a great force, and they do not”, after the summit.

At the same time, Donald Trump, in an obvious change of attitude, made it clear that he agreed with Vladimir Putin that the negotiators should proceed directly to a peacekeeping agreement, and not first in a ceasefire, as Ukraine and European allies have so far demanded.

Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelenski said he would travel to Washington on Monday to discuss the next steps.

At the same time, Kiev’s European allies welcomed Trump’s efforts, but pledged to continue supporting Ukraine, reinforce sanctions against Russia, and reiterated the call to the US to provide security guarantees in Ukraine.
