AADE: The three Piraeus Customs Customs are consolidated from September 8

A new era for the development and strengthening of its port Piraeusas one of the most important gates to the European Union, is inaugurated by the unification of the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Customs Piraeus, according to the decision of the Commander of the Independent Public Revenue Authority (AADE), George Pitsilis.

The three customs are consolidated at the 1st Customs Office of Piraeus, which will now serve even more effectively with the facilitation of legal trade, the protection of consumer safety and health and the safeguarding of the fiscal interests of both the country and the EU.

The new, reinforced 1st Customs Office of Piraeus will be in full operational operation since September 8, 2025, reinforcing Greece’s position in the International Trade Trade.

Responsibilities

The 1st Customs Office of Piraeus will serve all freight flows and transactions that have hitherto managed the three customs (1st, 2nd and 3rd) Piraeus, with spatial competence throughout their area of action.

It is excluded that used used vehicles, which is not included in its responsibilities and will continue to take place in the rest of the Attica customs.

This organizational reform is part of AADE’s more general action plan to modernize and reform the National Customs Charter, following the vote of the new Customs Code. Central axes of the drawing are:

  • The centralization of checks.
  • The utilization of the new digital environment for the implementation of customs processes, functions and controls.
  • Monitoring of freight flows through the Professional Vehicle Monitoring System.
