In a series of interventions and movements the HEDNOin order to reinforce and undermine the local electricity grid power In Aegina and Agistri.
HEDNO initially points out that the majority of cases of power outages are due to exogenous factors, such as fires or severe weather, rather than the failure of the network itself.
In the context of the continuous reinforcement, renovation and maintenance of the network, the DEDDIE local unit made two scheduled holidays in June, with the aim of maintaining and preventing damage to the medium voltage network in the Perdikas and Agia Marina area.
Regarding the problem of operation of the pumping station, which water supplies several areas of Aegina, following an autopsy done by a DEDDIE technical workshop, it was found that they were due to damage to the internal electrical installation and was not related to the distribution network.
Regarding other problems in the internal electrical installation of customers, they are not associated or justified by electricity holidays. In addition, HEDNO has established a procedure under which a sum of money is granted to customers who have been damaged by their electrical appliances due to accidental interruption of the neutral pipeline of the airspace or underground low -voltage network. To date, no customer requests have been made to be associated with randomly neutral cutting.
At the same time, HEDNO, in the context of its strategic planning, has prioritized the strengthening of infrastructure in urban and suburban areas with increased demands, such as the islands of Aegina and Akgistri.
Since mid-2023, it has developed a program, which emphasizes the medium voltage network that electrifies Aegina-Agistri and mainly concerns underground projects. In addition, HEDNO also carries out other underground projects and reinforcement.
It has done technical studies that will help optimize energy flow management and the proper functioning of the network, as well as to complete some of them. Indicatively, for Aegina and Agistri:
- Archaeological Site of Agapa (Aegina): The underground construction project, a total length of medium voltage network 20.2km, was completed.
- Low voltage airspace enhancement (Aegina): Recently 8.25km long -length airspace enhancement projects have been carried out
- Underground Air Middle Voltage Network (Agistri): The preparation of a technical study of underground study of a total length voltage network of 6.1km and corresponding dismissal is ongoing.
- Trend Regulators (Agistri): Consultations are under way with the relevant municipality to install a voltage regulators aimed at improving the quality of energy provided in Agistri. HEDNO awaits the approval of the proposed installation position by the Municipal Council.
Finally, the administrator notes that in the event of a general damage to the underwater supply of the two islands, it has built an appropriate infrastructure for the installation of power generations to ensure the uninterrupted supply of critical infrastructures of the islands.
In addition, both critical materials are stored in both islands to treat electricity holidays that may arise, so that recovery times are not affected by the frequency of ferry routes.
