According to the US president, the agreement being considered could include territorial exchanges – a perspective that Ukraine rejects in advance.
The choice of the place by Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin is not only accidental: not only is it a territory that the Russian Empire sold to the US in 1867, but also a state of particular strategic importance, according to Sky News analysis.
Alaska’s choice symbolizes the “strategic exchange rate”, that is, a space where US and Russia leaders meet face to face to a point where their interests literally meet. The state has gained a significant geopolitical burden due to its untapped mineral resources, and conversations there allows the world -scale energy and territorial issues – which, as analysts note, fits the US president’s love for the spectacular.
