Significant profits for a second consecutive meetingrecorded the values of shares Today (5.8.2025) on the Athens Stock Exchange, with the market closing in a new 15 -year -old, amid a positive climate in European markets.
The turnover was maintained at a high level, and the shares of Cyprus, Aktor, Metlen and OPAP was overwhelmed by the high capitalization. The General Price Index closed at 2,034.65 points, up 1.43%. It is the highest closure of the April 12th session (2,061.04 points).
Since the beginning of the year, the basic stock index has made profits of 38.44%. The value of the transactions amounted to EUR 266,301 million, with 42,614,859 shares. The high capitalization index rose 1.45%, while the middle capitalization index rose 0.93%.
Of the high capitalization shares, the shares of Cyprus (+6.53%), Aktor (+3.87%), Metlen (+3.61%), OPAP (+2.51%) and Jumbo (+2.51%) were the largest. On the contrary, the biggest decline was the shares of Optima Bank (-0.69%) Elvalhalcor (-0.40%) and Sarantis (-0.30%).
The largest volume of trading was presented by Alpha Bank and Eurobank with 13,197,564 and 7,793,767 shares, respectively. Alpha Bank with € 45.77 million and Nationals with EUR 38.49 million was the highest value of transactions.
87 shares were up, 26 and 13 remained stable. The shares rose the most: Nafpaktos spinning (+29.44%) and Vidavo (+9.77%). The biggest decline was recorded by Akritas (-4.87%) and Evorma (-1.83%).
