As Domna Michaelidou pointed out in her interview, the target for social consideration real estate, which will be provided with a low rent to vulnerable households, will initially begin with at least 10 properties and public plots.
According to the Minister, the bill is “an innovative public and private partnership”, it will provide for “allocation of public land to private contractors for the construction of housing, with an obligation, at least 30% of the residential houses to be intended for social residence”.
As Ms Michaelidou explained to Kathimerini, “protecting our vulnerable fellow citizens is a key destination of the Ministry”, with the main parameters being “relieved and empowering them, providing supportive services for their social integration and integrating them into the labor market.”

According to the Minister, this program will be funded with another 10 million euros.
At the same time, Ms Michaelidou stressed in her interview, “now over 1,500 fellow citizens are fully funded to have a personal assistant of their choice to meet their own needs”, which also helps disabled people “to design and live their daily lives”.
The Minister announced through the interview and starting in the fall of a new intervention for children with developmental disorders, aged 0-6 years, while referring to the digitization They contribute to the modernization of public administration and to the better targeting of income policy. “
However, the minister acknowledged that despite “the government’s steady interest in the reform of benefit policy” and to improve its effectiveness, the priorities for implementing its commitments, in terms of paying or increasing some benefits, “due to the housing crisis and the resident”.
As he pointed out, “the return on a rental basis, the financial support of 250 euros to people with disabilities” and “the 200 euro support for civil servants serving in island and mountainous areas have gained greater weight”. However, he added, “we remain consistent in our announcements and will be judged for it.”
