With spikes for genocide in Gaza and reminders of the values of democracy, the Mayor of Athens Harris Duke responded to the attack of Israeli ambassador Noam, who accused him that “he does not do enough to protect his city from organized minorities. It does not clean the city and makes Israeli tourists not feeling comfortable ”΄.
In a strong style, Haris Doukas rejected the Israeli diplomat’s objections, stressing that Athens is the capital of a Democratic country, which fully respects its visitors and defends the right to free expression of its citizens.
“As a municipal principle of the city, we have proven our active opposition to violence and racism, and we do not accept democracy lessons from those who kill civilians and children in the tails of coasts, from those who lead to deaths every day, dozens of people in Gaza, from bombs, hunger and hunger,” Mr. Doukas emphasized.

The reason for his reaction were statements by Noam Katz, who in an interview with “Kathimerini” criticized the Mayor of Athens for incomplete protection of the city from “organized minorities »inadequate cleanliness and lack of security that – in itself – makes Israeli tourists feel uncomfortable.
The mayor of Athens also responded to the highlights of the Ambassador of graffiti, saying that “the Ambassador’s focus is on the graffiti (which are apparently erased), while an unprecedented genocide is being carried out in Gaza.”
Concluding, Harris Doukas said that “In the last year the number of Israelis in which Greek Golden Visa was granted over 90%”, sending a message that the country remains open and welcoming, but not silent about what is happening in the Middle East.
