The situation of the three burns remains critical, as said by the director of the Papanikolaou Burning Unit, a plastic surgeon Sofia Papadopoulou.
“They are young people (19, 25 and 26 years old), a boy and two girls. All three are in critical condition. We cannot say that they have escaped the danger, because while they have burns in their bodies to a small extent – they are from 15 to 25%, mainly in the face and in the hands – they have inhaled burns of the smoke they inhaled, that is, Damage to lungs and airways And this is what we predict that it can make it difficult for the condition and course of their health, which will be long -lasting. Intensive care are needed, with the support of the First ICU of our Hospital and with the administration and with all staff, so that we can do the best for these new patients. Of course, these burns that have their hands and face are operated on, but we do not expect problems on the surgical side. The Two have undergone surgerybut today two of them will be operated on again in the coming days and the third, ”said Papadopoulou.
