It was difficult in the evening and it seems difficult to be the day for the Fire Brigades in Eordea Ptolemais After being in progress of the rejuvenation of fire which began yesterday (27/7/2025). Today, the risk of fire is very high especially in 15 areas.
The Fire Forces continue to operate on a ridge in the Eordea Ptolemais, while on the front of Fire in Pontocomi and Libra, the winds are strengthened and the forces are trying in every way to define the fire.
There is also the Regional Governor of Western Macedonia, George Amanatidis, accompanied by Vice -Mayor Lysandros Metaxas, to be informed about the development of businesses by the Commander of the Regional Fire Administration of Western Macedonia.
The situation went out of control after 14:00 on Sunday afternoon, when the flames reached the Egnatia Road, resulting in a proactive traffic in both directions.
Indeed, the regional governor spoke of a “difficult night” with all the forces of the Fire Service fighting a 24 -hour battle “as the fires have been a daily phenomenon for ten days”.
Fortunately, there is no concern in the rest of the weekend, as it has been partially controlled in Serres and there is no active front in Euboea, Messinia, Laconia and Kythira.
Specifically, according to the Fire Brigade, 55 agrarian fires have occurred in the last 24 hours, of which 50 were treated immediately, at their initial stage, while the Fire Brigades still face 5.
