Successive days with high temperatures and loads in the electricity system did not lead to significant problems and demand was fully met, mainly through RES.
This is the conclusion that is arising so far, as power outages have occurred this week only locally, without the slightest issue with the overall competence in our country. Indicatively, on Friday (25.7.2025) at noon the demand for electricity peaked and reached up to 10,700 MW, based on ADMIE data. From 12:00 to 14:00, RES produced 9,050-9,170 MW hourly, with conventional units completing 3,700-3,778 MW.
Corresponding is the image in market portrayal, as calculated by the energy stock market. Indicatively, between 13:00 and 14:00 green production reached 68.25% of the total, with gas at 23.5%.
Throughout Friday, RES were first with 42.5% and the gas second with 41.7%. The wholesale of the current climbed to 142 euros/MWh, a high level, but much lower than the levels we had on the corresponding days of last summer, when it had exceeded 180 euros.
Finally, the price shaping at tolerated levels on the heatwave predisposes positively to the formation of the average price of the whole of July and for the retail invoices that consumers will be required to pay in August. The new prices are to be announced next week by suppliers.
