THE Olympic won the Marousi 104-88 for GBL’s 21st match, with Alec Peters being the top player for George Bardzokas’ team. At 19-2 the Piraeus record in the league, the home side remained with just five wins.
In… training, Olympiacos turned the game against Maroussi, with the Piraeus people not having difficulty with the GBL’s skies, taking a comfortable victory, with Alec Peters on a very good day.
Despite the significant absences of Gokos, Vildoza and Milutinov, George Bardzokas’ team presented good basketball, with Giannoulis Larentzakis and Tyler Dorsey having 18 and 15 points respectively.
The race started at a high pace and the two teams often found the basket. Maroussi led 8-8 at the beginning, but the visitors quickly took the lead and with a 6-0 run at 14-8. Despite the good performance of Olympiacos, Marousi remained close to scoring, and the first period ended with Olympiacos leading 24-19.
In the second quarter, George Bartzokas tasted a different five, with Larentzakis in the role of operator and Peters as a center. This scheme was borne by the fruit, and Olympiacos 7-0 went to +12 (31-19). Maroussi opposed points from Floids, Mantzuka and Friedrice, but Olympiacos raised the difference, with Larentzakis and Dorsey making the difference. In the last quarter, Maroussi reduced to 88-81 with baskets by Ladzevin, Mantzuka and Friedrice, and the game gained new interest. However, Olympiacos improved his defense, raised energy and cruelty, and with the baskets of Peters, Larentzakis and Dorsey, secured the easy victory.
