Six people were killed and another 18 were injured when they collapsed arcades in coal mine in the north Afghanistanlocal authorities announced today.
The coal mine, located in Banglani province in Afghanistan, “suddenly collapsed, killing six miners and injuring 18 others,” official Sidafa Mustafa Hassimi told the French News Agency (AFP).
Accidents are often in Afghanistan mines, many of which do not meet the security regulations.
In December 2024, 22 workers had been trapped in a coal mine in the northern Sanangan province, but were eventually rescued.
In Banglan, ten workers were killed due to a collapse of a coal mine in February 2022.
