Syria: Heavy explosions in Damascus – Israel is shelling the city Al Jazeera says

Loud explosions were heard in Damascus on Friday night (13/12/2024) with Al Jazeera claiming that Israel is bombing its capital Syria.

In particular, Al Jazeera correspondent in Syria Resul Serdar says that a “loud explosion” was heard in Damascus on Friday night (12/13/2024).

“It shook the hotel where the journalists are staying,” Serdar said, adding that other less powerful explosions followed.

While the exact source and locations of the explosions were not confirmed, Sherdar noted that Israel has been carrying out airstrikes “in strategic areas” across Syria – particularly in and around Damascus – around this time in recent days.
