As of today (21.7.25) the end of cruise, burdening with a special charge of each passenger to land from a cruise ship in a Greek port. The fee is set at EUR 5 per person, while in the case of Mykonos and Santorini the charge is € 20 per passenger.
Annual revenue from the special fee are estimated to exceed € 50 million, given that around 8 million visitors from cruise ships to Greek ports landed last year.
More than 1,700,000 visitors passed in 2024 only from the port of Piraeus, followed by Santorini, Mykonos, Corfu and Heraklion.
The resources resulting from the special fee will be directed on the one hand to meet the needs of the municipalities where the ports of landing are located and on the other to strengthen the state budget.
