The conversion station electrical interface her Crete – Attica and the upgraded 400 kV of Koumoundourou high voltage center in Aspropyrgos, Attica, was inspected by European Commissioner for Energy and Housing Dan Yorgensen.
The administration of ADMIE and Ariadne Interconnection presented to Dan Yorgensen the facilities of the new electric interconnection terminal and informed him of the cutting -edge technologies incorporated by the project, which is energy -efficiently shielding Crete. The European Commissioner then went to the adjacent Center for High Voltage, which has been digitized and fully modernized with GIS closed equipment, enhancing the safe electricity of the Attica Basin.
The two neuralgic infrastructure made by the Administrator were implemented by community co -financing by the NSRF and the recovery fund respectively, strengthening the electricity transfer system in high demand.
During the tour of the Commissioner, the importance of projects for the country’s energy security was emphasized as well as the valuable know -how gained by the manager for new high -voltage cross -border infrastructure projects from Greece, which can contribute to the further energy unification of the European Union.
European Commissioner for Energy and Housing Dan Jorgensen said: “Works like this are important for Greece and for Europe. They help Member States to connect closer and thus be able to reduce energy prices, get rid of carbon broadcasts and guarantee the safety of their supply. All of these are very important goals for the European Union. “
ADMIE’s President and CEO Manos Manousakis said: “We have presented to the European Commissioner two ADMIE’s flagship projects, which came true thanks to the critical co -financing of the European Union. These infrastructures transform the country’s electric system and ensure significant benefits for the environment, economy and society. It is very encouraging that the European Commission has made an immediate priority of electricity networks and is willing to increase Community funding in the coming years, aiming for a more interconnected Europe. Equally important is the institutional and financial support of the Commission, which was re -confirmed by Jorgensen, in cross -border interconnections implemented and designed by the manager, such as the Greece -Cyprus -Israeli interconnection, Great Sea Interconnector. “
