Aegean: new direct flights to India from 2026 – Login to New Delhi and Mubai

Significant expansion of its international network announced yesterday (16.7.2025). Aegean At a press conference, with the spearhead of the company’s entry into one of the fastest growing markets in the world, the India. Aegean President, Mr. Eftihios Vassilakis, presented the opening plan to start flights to New Delhi since March 2026, and shortly thereafter, Mubai will be added to the network.

This strategic move is being made earlier than expected in the market, as initial estimates have spoken of a connection to India in 2027. The decision was expedited thanks to the availability of two new Airbus A321neo XLR aircraft, which Aegean receives at the end of 2025 and 2026.

Flights to New Delhi will take place five times a week, while Mubai will be served with three weekly connections. Flight curricula and tickets are expected in late September.

Investing in long -range aircraft

The integration of A321neo XLR marks a new chapter for Aegean, as they are aircraft that cover distances of up to 10.5 hours, providing advanced services and significant travel upgrading.

The aircraft have 138 seats, with 24 luxurious business class suites, lie-flat and enhanced privacy, while offering modern benefits to economic positions, such as 4K screens, Wi-Fi satellite and USB ports in each seat.

Aegean plans to further enhance its fleet by receiving 4 additional A321neo LR from 2027 and 2028, which may lead to new destinations, such as Bangalore, Maldives, Seychelles, Nairobi, Almaty and Lagos, with possible seasonal variants, depending on business.

India is a huge opportunity for Aegean and Greece

Explaining why the Indian market is a strategic choice, Aegean’s president emphasized that “0.5% of Indians have an income of over 53,000 euros, when the corresponding rate in Greece is about 2%. We are 10 million and they are 1.5 billion. This means they have about 40 times more potential trips they can make. “

He stressed that there is no other airline currently offering direct connection to India from Greece, which makes Aegean’s pioneering and high growth move.

“The addition of the two new A321neo XLR aircraft, which we receive in 2025, to the four A321neo LRs we will receive in 2027 and 2028, accelerates our access to the extremely important India market, but also allows us to immediately upgrade our product and services to destinations outside the EU. Mr. Vassilakis.

The strategy behind the extension

Changing strategy from major competitors, such as Turkey, which has lost ground in the Indian market, has created space for Aegean to take advantage of new opportunities.

The rapid securing the appropriate aircraft and the organized approach of the company show the dynamic adjustment to developments and the ambition for further development.

With the addition of 8 weekly flights to India, Aegean aspires to connect to about 75 million wealthy Indian travelers, promoting Greece as a key gateway to Europe in India.
