A man from Massachusetts envied the… favor of Santa Claus USA, when he got stuck in one chimney on Tuesday night (10.12.2024), in his attempt to escape from the police and avoid the raid.
Police in Fall River, Massachusetts, USA were looking for 33-year-old Robert Langlais and another suspect who tried to escape through the roof of his home.
Video that captured the operation to arrest the young man, on a warrant – shows an officer peeking inside the house and then yelling to his colleagues that at least one of the suspects was on the roof.
Try to escape like Santa Claus
One of the suspects jumped from the roof onto a parked vehicle, while Langlais tried to hide inside a chimney.
The police entered through a window of the house, climbed to the top of the roof and as soon as they looked into the chimney, they found their man.
“You’re an idiot,” said a police officer as they shined a light on the trapped man. “Show us your hands,” they shouted at him.
Video footage captured by a camera embedded in the officers’ uniform shows the suspect wedged in the chimney.
During the rescue, firefighters removed chimney bricksin order to free Langlias, who is heard saying “Get me out of here, man!”to the police officers he was trying to avoid earlier.
He was then pulled to safety, causing him to scream and say his leg bent a little.
Langlais was taken to a local hospital as a precaution and later arrested for drug possession as well as numerous other offenses stemming from outstanding warrants.
At the same time, the police are continuing the search for the second suspect.
