The signing of the contract was held in the presence of the Minister of National Economy and Finance, Kyriakou Pierrakakisof the CEO of ERAD, Iro Hatzigeorgiou, and the Attica Regional Governor Nikos Chardalia.

Kyriakos Pierrakakis pointed out that “public property is not inactive stock, nor can it remain trapped in bureaucracy” and emphasized that “it is a dynamic capital, which belongs to all citizens and must produce goodwill for society”.

The minister made special reference to the need for cooperation between the state and the local authority: “The state cannot and should not do it all on its own. Today’s concession is a practical recognition of the role of the Attica Region as a strategic partner in the management of public property. “

Tae Kwon Do’s work in Faliro symbolizes a change of paradigm in the management of public property in Greece: with cooperation, transparency and a clear development footprint. The plan provides for the complete reconstruction of the stadium in a modern conference center and the total redevelopment of the Faliro Bay area. A new, open metropolitan park is being created, upgrading the water square, the coastal front and the seaside, giving new impetus to the Athenian Riviera.

The contract enters into force on 1 January 2026, with a duration of 40 years. Full management of the area will pass to the Region from January 1, 2028, while during the transitional period 2026 – 2027, the ERDA will continue to undertake the operation, maintenance and exploitation of infrastructure.

During the event, Kyriakos Pierrakakis emphasized the government’s determination that there is no opportunity to remain untapped: “It is our apostate to turn this property into a tool for sustainable growth and employment. We will not leave any opportunity unused. With boldness, plan and complete transparency, we will disturb the waters and prove that the State can work effectively, for the benefit of all. For the citizen who wants live public spaces, for local government that is seeking development poles, for businesses looking for modern infrastructure, for tourism that extends to the sea. “

In closing, he said: “Tae Kwon Do will no longer be a memory. It will be a reference point for a new era of public property in Greece. “

ETAD Managing Director Iro Hatzigeorgiou said: “We do not approach the real estate one -dimensional, nor do we see them only through competitions. Each property has its own maturation and can be exploited with multiple social and economic benefits. “
