“By the decision of Kyriakos Mitsotakis, the ND CO of ND, having thoroughly studied the details of the case file, will propose the establishment of an Inquiry Committee that will investigate everything away from small -party expediency and with the aim of seeking truth and consolidating the subsidy system,” said Pavlos Marinakis
“Our proposal concerns the period since the establishment of OPEKEPE, in 1998 to date to seek the pathogens, to identify the problems and to have complete transparency for the benefit of the producers,” the government spokesman said.
Citing the reasons for this decision, Mr. Marinakis said:
1. OPECEPE’s issue, which annually distributes aid of € 2.5 billion to 645,000 producers, is timeless and the Inquiry Committee has the full capacity and discretion of the investigation, without excluding any development. The search for responsibility, based on the facts and not the small -party aspirations, will be served through the examinations of the examination that will investigate everything for the operation of the organization since 1998.
2. The fact that fines of more than € 2.7 billion have been imposed on our country since 1998, stresses the need to seek the reasons for imposing fiscal corrections, to investigate the problems in depth and to close all gaps that cause serious economic sanctions on the EU.
3. OPECEPE’s actions will be examined since its inception, their proposals to political leaderships and what their response is. In the same context, it will be investigated by which ministers transmitted fraud cases to the judicial authorities and overall what the agency’s administrations did for the “red” VAT IDs found by cross -checks.
4. They will check who requested and carried out cross -checks, what their results and duration, and what are the gaps of the system. The role of the technical adviser and its relationship with the operation of OPEKEPE will be explored, and it will be sought if there were unfair influences in the organization or ineffective system of internal controls.
5. The Inquiry Committee will investigate key issues such as the “technical solution”, which has been a timeless selection of many different governments and ministers, to address the issue of paying aid to breeders, as well as the issue of the definition of pastures, which brought the “technical solution”.
6. All the reasons for the non -implementation of grazing plans will be searched and examined and their association with the Forestry, Land Registry and other digital tools of OPEKEPE.
7. The data transmitted to the House for the two former Ministers of Rural Development by the European Public Prosecutor’s Office, without evaluation in accordance with the Constitution, do not qualify for the establishment of a pre -trial committee. We note that no prosecutions have been prosecuted for other non -political persons.
For all these reasons, but primarily because we propose the radical treatment of a serious timeless problem from hypocritical party exploitation, we propose the establishment of an Inquiry Committee, where everything will be investigated, without any shadowing, with the sole purpose of seeking the truth and system.
The establishment of an Inquiry Committee will also help the effective investigation of any criminal liability and not only limited to specific politicians.
We call on the parties to lift the circumstances against a timeless “wound” of decades, voting in favor of our proposal for an Inquiry Committee to investigate all the data from 1998 until today.
