The National Unity Government (GNU) in Libyabased in Tripoli, signed a new agreement with Turkeywhich reinforces military cooperation between them.
Undersecretary of Defense of the government of Abdulhamid Dbaiba in Libya visited Ankara yesterday and met with Turkey’s Defense Minister Yasar Guler.
The aim of the agreement is to strengthen the potential of the Libyan army and military cooperation between the two countries, according to the GNU statement.
Turkey will provide Libya “advanced military education, technical and logistical support, with the aim of improving the readiness and professional competence of the Libyan Army staff”.
The two sides have signed similar agreements in 2019 and 2022 to enhance the capabilities of the Libyan Air Force, training pilots and providing technology.

The Dbeyba government has signed the illegal memorandum for the demarcation of marine zones with Turkey (Turkish Memorandum), which is not recognized by the Benghazi government, controlled by General Halifa Haftar.
