In matters Artificial Intelligence already started to train from Google 500 civil servants to familiarize themselves with this relatively new technology and enhance their knowledge.
The specific educational initiative, entitled “All for All”, is carried out by the Ministry of the Interior, in collaboration with Google and the National Center for Public Administration and Self-Government (EKDDA), while since September the program on Artificial Intelligence will be extended to all public sector services.
The first training program includes three days by specialized and experienced Google trainers. Two of them will be addressed to civil servants as a whole and unfold through the thematic sections “Increase Your Productivity with Artificial Intelligence (Al)” and “Problem Solving Methods”. The third seminar on “Leadership for the Digital Age” concerns executives who hold positions of responsibility in the public sector.
Google’s collaboration with the Ministry of the Interior, which is part of a broader initiative regarding training in AI matters in Greece (AI Skilling Initiative in Greece) and announced at the 9th Delphi Economic Forum, aims to accelerate the digital transition through Artificial Intelligence , as well as ensuring equal opportunities, accessible to all.
Said training program will be available through the platform Grow with Google. The reason for this program was the economic report conducted by Implement Consulting Group on behalf of the company, which recorded that the extensive adoption of Generative AI has the potential to increase the annual GDP of Greece by 10-12 billion euros per year. This is a contribution that will be reflected in about ten years from now, when this particular technology is expected to be fully integrated into the production process and economy.
The Deputy Minister of the Interior, Vivi Charalambogianni, said in this regard that “enhancing productivity in the State, by exploiting the possibilities offered by Artificial Intelligence, is a priority of the Ministry of the Interior for the development of the Greek economy. We are proud to have on our side technological giants such as Google, with whose support we strengthen the digital skills of employees, decisively reduce bureaucracy and thus direct the lively potential of the State to more productive activities, those that all citizens need.
