UM participates in the 8th annual Impact Day with an all -day environmental action in Attica

UM, a member of the IPG Mediabrands Network, is participating in the 8th annual Impact Day for another year, UM’s World Voluntary Day Day, in which its offices remain closed, giving employees the opportunity to substantially offer local communities.

Impact Day has been established as a dynamic tradition, which expresses UM’s commitment to “return” to society, through collective actions with a positive impact. UM teams around the world leave their offices for one day, offering work to people and areas in need.

This year, the UM in Greece focuses on the environment and the promotion of the ecological crisis in West Attica, with the guidance and support of the Save Your Hood Volunteer Movement. It is active throughout the country with the aim of environmental awareness and local mobilization. Save Your Hood, acts all over Greece with the aim of awakening and activating local communities.

The action includes:

  • Visits to environmentally burdened areas of western Attica, such as the Chaidari Forest
  • Cleaning Lake Koumoundourou
  • Discussion with Parnithas bodies and residents, and the impact of fires
  • Observation of local biodiversity

Impact Day is a special opportunity for collective action and connection to UM values.

Susan Kingston-Brown, president of UM Global, said: “Impact Day is an extremely important day in the UM calendar, and it means a lot to our people around the world. It is a day that embodies our belief in the intense, community rooted action, where we come close to return to the communities and the goals that are deeply touched by us. “

Triantafyllos Mandanis, CEO of UM Greece, said: “Impact Day is more than a day of volunteering, it is a reminder that care, action and empathy are part of our culture. Through our environmental excursion this year, we had the opportunity to come close to nature, see closely the consequences of negligence, and enhance the sense of collective responsibility that unites us as a team. “
