Mildly downtrodns today (11.07.2025) the prices of shares in Athens Stock Exchangein the midst of a retreat of European markets in the wake of President Trump’s threats to high duties on major US trade partners.
Specifically, the General Price Index of the Athens Stock Exchange closed at 1,960.17 points, down 0.44%. The market corrected after eight consecutive upward sessions, during which the main stock market index had recorded a total of 5.39%.
On a weekly basis, the basic stock market rose 2.19%, from the beginning of July, it is up 4.93%and from the beginning of 2025 it has made profits of 33.37%.
The value of the transactions amounted to EUR 200.42 million, with 39,260,146 shares. The high capitalization index fell 0.45%, while the middle capitalization index fell 0.24%.
Of the high capitalization shares, the shares of Sarantis (+3.53%), Aktor (+2.11%), EYDAP (+1.20%) and ELPE (+0.85%) were the largest rise. On the other hand, the biggest decline was the shares of Optima Bank (-3.23%), Viohalco (-1,835), Elvalhalcor (-1.67%), OTE (-1,485) and Metlen (-1,42%).
The largest volume of trading was presented by Alpha Bank and Eurobank with 14,071,169 and 7,537,390 shares, respectively. Alpha Bank with € 45.03 million and Piraeus with EUR 34.99 million.
47 shares were on the rise, 54 declining and 24 remained stable. The shares rose the most: Kyriakoulis (+9.96%) and Kekros (+8.23%). The biggest decline was recorded by Evorma (-4.26%) and Petropoulos (-4.01%).
