The mAigov the digital assistant of gov.gr turns one year old, his birthday is today, December 12, and instead of “blowing out” candles… he extinguishes all the questions of citizens who rush to chat with him, while at the same time reducing the bureaucracy, effort and time that one has to spend to find the right service they need.
Since mAigov’s first day of “birth” on December 12, 2023, it has not stopped providing information and assistance regarding public administration procedures. For a year now, citizens have been chatting with the digital assistant in 25 languages, 24 hours a day, both from their mobile phone and from their computer.
Queries submitted in natural language, written or spoken, reach the digital assistant who helps them locate in a simple and friendly way what they are looking for among the 1,950 services of gov.gr and the almost 4,000 administrative procedures of the National Registry of Administrative Procedures ” MYTHS”.
Questions since mAigov’s launch amount to 1.600.000with an average of 5,500 queries per day.
Traffic is seen from 7am to 11pm, however it receives inquiries 24 hours a day with peak traffic from 10am to 4pm.
As stated by the Athenian-Macedonian News Agency (APE-MBE), the Minister of Digital Governance, Dimitris Papastergiou “with the one-year mAigov Digital Assistant we also celebrate the completion of the first year of systematic use of Artificial Intelligence by the public administration. mAigov in just one year answered more than 1.6 million citizen queries, became multilingual, got action bot functions. But the most important thing is that it is now a part of our daily life.
Citizens have very warmly welcomed the first TN implementation and this fills us with optimism to continue implementing our broader TN strategy, improving everyday life and making government more efficient. mAigov’s birthday coincided with good news for the country in the field of AI, as our proposal to create an Ai Factory was approved. We are methodically acquiring the “Daedalos” supercomputer, investing in the reskilling and upskilling of citizens’ digital skills, preparing for the utilization of data. The direction of Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis is clear. We will use AI responsibly in every area of public policy where it can expand our capabilities.”

The four years of gov.gr
gov.gr, the Unified Digital Portal of the Public Administration, which has been in operation for over four years (launched in March 2020), serves citizens and businesses to easily and quickly find digital services and saves them from hours of waiting in queues. Specifically, according to data, the documents or declarations that have been issued/submitted electronically have reached 309,339,629. It is interesting that 8,581,859 different citizens have issued through gov.gr at least one electronic document or have submitted an electronic declaration.
