The Council of Eurozone Ministers of Finance (Eurogroup) Elected today (7/7/25) Ireland’s Minister of Finance, Pascal Donahiou, as its chairman for a third term.
The new term of the Eurogroup President, two and a half years, will begin on July 13, 2025.
He expressed his gratitude to his counterparts for his re -election, Pascal Donahiou, who has been performing the duties of the Eurogroup president since July 2020.
He said:
“In the face of significant geopolitical changes, the euro area has proven to be very durable. It will be my duty to further strengthen our common monetary zone and facilitate tangible progress in our main axes of work during this next term – from fiscal coordination to capital markets and from digital euro to banking union.
A stronger and more competitive zone of the euro will enhance the international role of the euro, further enhance our durability and prosperity for the benefit of our citizens. “
