Completed the meeting of the United Nations Secretary -General for the Cyprus Secretary General Maria Achela Olginwith the Cypriot president Nikos Christodoulidesat the Presidential Palace in Nicosia.
In her statements, Ms Olgin said she would work hard to achieve something important at the five -member New York Conference on July 16 and 17. He will see, he said, in the afternoon the negotiators on both sides.
He stressed that he focuses on confidence building measures for a better future for the two communities.

Ms Olgin met earlier with the Turkish Cypriot leader Ersin Tatarexpressing hope that there will be progress on what was agreed on both sides last March.
Ms Olgin said she was very happy to return to the island as part of the preparation for next week. We hope, as he said, that there will be significant developments in the measures that were decided in March.

He said he had a good meeting with Mr Tatar and “all this effort made by the UN for the well -being of the island and for people to have a better life. We will continue to work – the UN commitment is fully in this direction. We hope that leaders also share this perception, “Ms Olgin.
