“PAOK Mateco announces the deal with Antonis Koniaris, who returns to our team to play again with the black and white jersey in the 2025-26 season.
Antonis Koniaris is a child of our own as he became a member of the PAOK family at the age of 14. Born in Chania on September 30, 1997 and having started basketball from AO Akrotariou, he joined the PAOK Infrastructure Departments in 2011.
The PAOK team won the Pan -Hellenic Championship in 2014, but earlier and more specifically on October 12, 2013 he made his debut with the PAOK jersey on A1. He was only 16 years old and 12 days old, when he played for 31 seconds in the PAOK-Colossus Rhodes (88-81) at the 2013-14 season premiere.
He fought for the next two years in Panathinaikos (2014-16), to return to PAOK and for three years (2016-19) to be an integral part of the team, despite his young age. In total in his two terms in PAOK, Antonis Koniaris played in 146 games and scored 655 points, participating in all competitions in Greece and Europe and participation in the 2019 Cup final.
Following his departure from PAOK, Antonis Koniaris competed at Olympiacos (2019-21), and passed through Ionic and Obdoiro during the 2020-21 season, to follow two seasons at AEK (2021-23). He competed in Prometheus Patras (2023-24), and played in Lavrio last season and had 8.3 points, 2.2 rebounds and 4.1 assists in 24 games.
He has participated with all national teams, has become a European champion with the Young Men’s National Team in 2017 and won the silver medal in the Eurobasket in 2013.
He has won two Greek Cups (2015, 2016), has been twice as a new new player in the Greek Championship (2017, 2018), while in 2018 he was a winner in the three -point shot in the Basket League All Star Game ”.
