In an atmosphere of deep emotion, a multitude of worlds gathered on the streets of Gondomar to pay tribute to the Diogo Zotathe Liverpool international footballer who was killed in a car accident in Spain on Thursday (3/7/25).
Early on Friday morning (4/7/25) hundreds of citizens formed queues outside the chapel of St. Kosmas, holding roses, a Portuguese scarf and photos of Diogo Zota, to say one last goodbye to the unfortunate footballer. The atmosphere was heavy, with the emotion and tears on the faces of the attendees dominating.
Diogo Zota was at the best of his life, having recently won the Premier League with Liverpool, as well as the UEFA Nations League with National Portugal. At the same time on June 22, he had married the chosen heart of Route Cardozo, with whom they had three children. The couple met in Godomar when they were both teenagers.
It is worth noting that in the fatal traffic accident besides the 28 -year -old footballer, his brother Andre Silva was also located, with the two men killed in Zamora, Spain, as they traveled from Portugal to Bilbao, so that Zota would take Ferre. Outside the Liverpool stadium friends of the team left flowers for the player’s memory, while former and current Zota teammates bid farewell to their unfortunate man in their own way.
