To Mount Athos went shortly after 11am the prime minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis For a two -day visit to the Athenian state.
The prime minister arrived by helicopter in Karyes. The square was welcomed by Protector Abraham and the political commander of Mount Athos Alcibiades Stefanis and led him to the entrance of Protatos, where he greeted the abbots and representatives and embraced the image of Our Lady “Axion Esti”.
After his arrival, Kyriakos Mitsotakis was led to the Church of Protatos, where the official reception ceremony took place based on the strict formal of Mount Athos by the 20 abbot and the 20 representatives of the Holy Monasteries, with the full composition of the administration of the Holy Community. The devotion “chant – prime minister” was chanted, followed by a prime minister’s address, who welcomed the prime minister to the spiritual heart of Orthodoxy.
For his part, the prime minister, in his disagreement, thanked the Holy Community for the honor and emphasized the government’s willingness to respect the spiritual mission of Mount Athos with respect, recognizing its importance as a symbol of national identity and Orthodox tradition.
Mr. Mitsotakis is accompanied by Deputy Minister of National Economy and Finance Nikos Papathanassis, the Deputy Minister of Interior (Macedonia – Thrace) Costas Gioulekas and the Secretary of the Political Committee of ND Costas Skrekis, while also attending Kostas Skrekis,
Kyriakos Mitsotakis, during a visit, will go to the Holy Monasteries of Iberia, Vatopedi, Simonos Petra and Xenophon.
