At least seven people are ignored by the great fire that broke out in fireworks warehouse in California On Tuesday (1.7.2025), with 2 people injuring and the fire was extended to neighboring crops and vegetation.
The series of explosions occurred on Tuesday night, after fire in Esparto, in the northern part of California, a few hours before traditional fireworks with more or less throughout the country tomorrow Friday July 4th, a national holiday in the US.
“Seven people are still missing,” said Calfire, the state fire and forest protection service, in a statement yesterday. “First aid and researchers work unobtrusively coordinated with the owner of the facility where these people were.”
“This kind of event is very rare, as the type facilities keep not only the very strict requirements for fireworks in California, but also the federal standards and the storage of explosives,” he added.

The two injured are now out of danger, according to authorities.
However, firefighters have not yet been able to enter the warehouse so far, as there is a risk of explosion of fireworks stored there.
“The situation is very complicated and dangerous,” explained Curtis Lawrence, leader of the Fire Department in Esparto, during a press conference.
In the area around the warehouse debris and fragments are scattered on a “large surface”, which explains the “large safety perimeter” around the installation until the flames are dying, he added.

Some relatives of the missing did not hide their anger.
A woman interrupted the press conference, saying that her partner and his two brothers, who were missing, was angry at the point that there was no information about their fate.
He accused the firefighters of “not focusing on the people who were trapped in the warehouse and probably killed”.
“People may have lost their lives because you are not doing your job properly,” he broke out.
Due to the incident, some cities in the area announced that they were canceling the fireworks for tomorrow.
