Voting to a proposal of mistrust against Ursula von der Laene

Faced with a vote of no confidence in the European Parliament will be found next Thursday (10/7/25) by the European Commission President Ursula von der Layen.

It will be the first time since 2014 that the president of the Commission will face such a situation as that of Ursula von der Layen.

At this stage, voting is mainly symbolic – the majority of political groups have already stated that it will vote against the proposal of mistrust – but it underlines the growing rage with itself in Brussels after a series of controversial movements and scandals, according to Politico.

If the distrust proposal is voted in, it will lead to the resignation of the entire committee and trigger the complex process of appointing 27 new European commissioners.
