Positive recommendation was issued by Commission In relation to her decision to revise the National Planthus paving the way for the approval of revision by the European Council.
The main objective of the Greek proposal for revision of the National Recovery Plan submitted to the Commission is to ensure the complete and effective exploitation of all the resources available to the country by the recovery fund. The proposal is financially neutral – there is no financial reduction in the Greek plan. The revision consists of adjusting actions for objective technical/management reasons, based on the hitherto image of implementation, while enhancing actions for which there is high demand, and the addition of new projects.
The new projects in the revised Plan “Greece 2.0” are: Integrated upgrading the security infrastructure of OSE’s ten largest railway tunnels using smart systems, creating smart crossings in school units, and developing autonomous smart light networks on the roads, in Athens. Also include new projects for the digital transformation of education (additional 2900 interactive paintings in public schools), public health and urban planning with the system of detecting arbitrary construction with modern technological means, supply of 2 aircraft for civil protection, as well as new multimedia system.

The inclusion and funding of new projects was approved by the resources available from the transfer of projects, such as the 13 Civil Protection Centers and the upgrading of 7 Canadair to longer -term financial tools, from actions evaluated that they could not be implemented in the timetable. Upgrading the digital skills of the military, the digitization of the Economic Diplomacy Network, and the Aluminum Dam. In the action of electricity, market non -market response has led to the replacement of green taxi programs and charges everywhere with the supply of additional electric buses.
It is recalled that Greece submitted its proposal for the revision of the National Plan “Greece 2.0” on 14/5/2025, in accordance with the provisions of the Regulation and responding positively and immediately to the European Commission’s establishment to all Member States to review their national plans in order to ensure the timely submission of payments.
The next step, following the positive recommendation of the European Commission, is the final approval of the Ecofin review proposal, which is expected in July.
