The minister said it is a process that has already begun
In the “Newsroom” show by ERTNEWS the Minister of Rural Development spoke, Costas Tsiarasfor the case of OPECEPE.
He stressed that these pathogens that come from the past should be closed, and the issue that now arises as the first priority is the immediate return of money that some have taken illegally.
As he informed this is a process that has already begun and even stressed in a strict style that “Anyone who declares something false and now will be found with very severe criminal responsibilities.”
At the same time, particularly important, he said, is to continue the flows of all these European resources to real farmers, breeders, producers.
It is noted that the prime minister has already announced the setting up of a special team with participants with the financial police, AADE and other control mechanisms in the country. That is, there will be a cooperation between different ministries in order to recover the money from those who have taken on European subsidies illegally.
Asked how to find those who received illegal money and what the plan is, Mr Tsiaras said that “the process is provided by both the Union and the national legislation and this is very important, because on the basis of this particular provision, a specific group will be set up and operated.”
He clarified that there will be very quickly visible results, as he believes that the procedures will begin immediately. All those involved will find themselves with the judicial investigation, which already exists by the European Public Prosecutor’s Office, but I also believe in the administrative investigation, which will follow.
