Oukraine: In the private sector the EU’s “ball” throws the “ball” of rebuilding

At the international conference for rebuilding Ukraine (Ukraine Recovery Conference 2025, Rome) and the private sector (and more specifically, in the defense industry) was referred by its summit EU (26 – 27.6.25) The issue of supporting the country at the level of investment.

Specifically, the EU final announcement states that the European Union remains committed – in the context of Ukraine’s integration in the EU – to support its recovery, recovery and rebuilding, in coordination with international partners, including psychological and psychosocial areas. In this context, the European Council is looking forward to the Ukrainian recovery conference, which will take place in Rome on July 10 and 11, 2025.

As for the Rome Conference, the call states that in order to achieve economic growth and successful reconstruction, “Private capital is the key.”

Therefore, the Ukraine Recovery Conference will try to address private sector concerns, such as security, funding and insurance, excessive regulations and the labor market.

In this way, the Summit in Rome is a focal point by attempting to lift obstacles for private investment in the Ukrainian economy.

In addition, in the EU’s announcement, nothing specific about Ukraine rebuilding, except that the European Union will continue to provide Ukraine regular and predictable financial support in the long run. In 2025, the EU will offer Ukraine 30.6 billion euros, of which 3.5 billion euros have already been disbursed through the Ukraine Facility and € 7 billion through the G7 ERA initiative, which are repaid from the unexpected profits from the frustrated Russian.

In essence, the only distinct reference to the EU’s announcement of European investment in the Ukrainian economy concerns the defense industry. Characteristically, the Council emphasizes the importance of accelerating actions for the further support and development of Ukraine’s defense industry as well as deepening its cooperation and integration with the European Defense Industry. It also calls for immediate activation of decisions under the European Peace Facility and emphasizes the importance of the G7 ERA military arm.
