On Friday, an Israeli court rejected a request for Mr Netanyahu’s defense to postpone the hearing proceedings of his trial for corruption, fraud and confidence abuse for two weeks.
A lawyer for the Israeli prime minister called for a postponement of the process expected next week, citing “developments in the region and the world” after the war against Iran and in the midst of the continuation of the war in the Gaza Strip.
He then filed a new postponement request to the Court on the annulment of the next two judgments.
Donald Trump has already demanded the cancellation of the trial on Wednesday, which described – as another – “witch hunt”. Something he repeated yesterday, describing it similar to what he “suffered” himself. He also suggested the awarding of grace “to the Great Hero”, the day after the ceasefire, which was implemented between Israel and Iran.
Mr Netanyahu denies the charges in this trial, which has been postponed repeatedly since its launch in May 2020.
