The new Pirelli Cinturato P7 Blue

Pirelli presented its new Cinturato P7 Blue at the Essen tire fair. It is a tire designed to offer medium displacement cars increased mileage, reduced braking distances and lower rolling resistance. This is the official debut of this particular product, which joins the existing P7: the first ecological tire for mid-sized cars launched by Pirelli in 2009. It is on display at the Essen show until June 8, in size 235/45R17 XL and is already available in the European market with the first 16 dimensions available.

It draws on the Italian brand’s experience from Formula 1, as it not only shares the same name as Pirelli’s all-weather tire for the crown jewel of motorsport, but also adopts the same research and modeling processes as its racing counterpart.

The new tire was designed and developed with the help of advanced simulations with mathematical models, which allow Pirelli engineers to evaluate its performance and response in a wide range of conditions.

Some performance characteristics of the new Cinturato P7 Blue are summarized in the new European label, which will become mandatory for all tires supplied to cars and commercial vehicles from November 1, 2012. The new member of the Cinturato family scores excellent in rolling resistance and braking in the wet – ‘AA’ and ‘AB’ in different dimensions – highlighting the cutting-edge technology of the Pirelli premium range, in which the new Blue plays an important role.

Next to the new member of the Cinturato family, Pirelli’s stand will also display its latest products for cars, trucks and motorcycles.
