US President Donald Trump announced earlier that he is putting an end to trade negotiations with his neighbor in Canada, judging that Otava’s tax on the country’s digital services for technology companies is a “immediate and obvious blow” to the United States.
“Because of this scandalous tax, we are putting an end to all trade talks with Canada, with immediate power,” Donald Trump wrote on the Truth Social platform, who wrote that it was a “immediate and blatant attack on our country”.
“They obviously copy the European Union, which has done the same thing and is currently being discussed with us, too,” Donald Trump added.
“We will inform Canada about the duty it pays to do jobs with the United States of America within the next seven days.”
