The Greek cyclist was sentenced to three years Christos Volikakisas announced on Thursday (26/6/25) by the World Cycling Federation (UCI), after a rule violation anti -doping (ADRV).
The decision is based on a sample repetitive analysis collected on August 16, 2016 by Christos Volikakis, during the Rio Summer Olympics. According to the announcement, the sample detected the presence of metabolite LGD-4033, a substance belonging to selective androgen receptor modifiers (SARMS), which is classified in the S1.2 (“Other Anabolic Factors”) list of banned substances and the world-renowned substances.
The exclusion period officially began on March 15, 2024 and will run until March 14, 2027, according to the World Code of Anti -Doping and UCI regulations.
The sample was reviewed as part of the Program of the International Audit Organization (ITA), at the behest of the International Olympic Committee (ILO), which focuses on sampling analyzes from the Rio 2016 Olympics.
