The “Paris 2024” Olympic Games -Magogue with the Paralympic Games- They cost the French state less than € 6 billion ($ 6.9 billion), according to the National Auditors in an “initial estimate” on Monday (23.06.2025), about a year after a year after a year after France.
The Court of Auditors mentioned in its preliminary report – published before the 2030 winter Olympics, which were also commissioned in France – that costs include 2.77 billion euros for the event and 3.19 for infrastructure investment.
Another 3.19 billion euros were spent on infrastructure -related work, while € 1.4 billion left for the safety of the Olympic and Paralympic Games.
A more detailed report on the cost of the Olympics is expected to be published in October.
The cost is alleged to be much greater than it was originally predicted. The highest expenses are attributed to bonuses for security men recruited, at the cost of constructing the Olympic Village and the Olympic Swimming Center in Saint-Deni, as well as the acceleration of work on line 14 of the metro, to reach the Olympic Village and surrender.
At the same time, the Olympic Games Organizing Committee commented that the number of 6 billion euros is very… general and creates prejudice to public opinion. Indeed, financial manager Fabrice Lacrua – speaking to reporters – estimated that the final cost of the public money event would be closer to 2 billion euros.
“Really, there is no issue of war,” the first chairman of the Court of Auditors Pierre Moscovici assured during a press conference. But we had to “see the truth about prices” quickly, mainly because of the situation in which France’s public finances are currently in and because of the preparation for the 2030 Winter Olympics.
The Olympics were held from July 26th to August 11th, while the Paralympic Games from August 28 to September 8, with the organizers making the most of historical sites in downtown Paris, either as a venues or as a venue or as a venue.
