The strike of the Pan -Hellenic Union of Merchant Marine Shipwreckers is escalating (PENEN)who announced New 24 -hour strike on passenger -ferry ships of Patras – Igoumenitsa – Italy.
Mobilization started today, Monday, June 23, at 06:00 am and will be completed tomorrow, Tuesday 24 June at the same time.
The strike is a continuation of the multi -day struggle that now enters the 8th day, with seafarers declaring determined to continue “fighter and firmly” until their requests are satisfied.
At a strike yesterday, PENEN members examined the strike so far and submitted a modified proposal to the Association of Passenger Shipping Businesses (SEEN).
Remarkable It is that the new 24 -hour strike was not infected by SEEN and shipping companies, and according to the Union’s announcement, the ban on the entry of PENEN President to the port of Patras and on strike ships – a measure that had caused strong reactions, was withdrawn.
“We insist – we are struggling and demanding that solutions are given to our righteous and mature demands. The Acropolis – Government – YEN is responsible for the unprecedented disruption caused on the Adriatic route. The Maritime Association has announced that it has already officially disclosed the number and names of the security personnel who will oversee the procedure during the strike, as provided.
