The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkey, in a statement, condemns the presence of Israeli forces on the territory of Syria and accuses Israel of displaying an “occupational mentality in a sensitive period when the possibility of peace in the country is emerging”.
“We strongly condemn Israel’s violation of the 1974 Disengagement Agreement by its entry into the Israeli-Syrian neutral zone and its continued advance into Syrian territory.
At this sensitive time when the possibility of achieving the peace and stability that the Syrian people have been longing for for many years is emerging, Israel is once again demonstrating its occupation mentality,” the statement said.
“We resolutely reiterate our support for the sovereignty, political unity and territorial integrity of Syria,” concludes the announcement of the Turkish Foreign Ministry.
