An attack on Zoe Konstantopoulou launched the New Democracy MP, Makarios Lazaridis, on the occasion of the case of ‘Rapist with cheese pie’ which was defended by the president of the Freedom Freedom a decade ago.
Mr Lazaridis said: “It is obvious – and thank you – that Ms Konstantopoulou today (yesterday) has officially acknowledged within the Greek Parliament that she had actually defended a rapist. And it is in such a difficult position that he used – who apparently asked for it – the opposing lawyer to convince us that this is not the case. So Mr Floridis was absolutely right yesterday and I understand why Mrs Constantopoulou did not react yesterday. “
The ND MP also referred to the international dimensions of the case: “Our country, through Mrs. Constantopoulou, has become worldwide known for this case. The Hellenic Observatory for Helsinki referenced to the UN with a detailed timeline with Ms. Konstantopoulou’s procedural efforts so as not to complete this trial. “
Concluding his speech, Mr. Lazaridis was severely conquered against the political style of the President of Freedom Freedom: “This is Mrs. Constantopoulou, who comes here and uses incredible unexplained and miserable characteristics against this line.”
Mr Lazaridis’ reports come in follow of the statements he had made earlier within the week Justice Minister George Floridis for the same case.
