OR Academy of Athens, At the plenary session on June 19, 2025, he elected the poet Titus Patricia as an honorary member.

The country’s highest spiritual institution reports about the poet:

Titus Patricios was born in 1928. He belongs to the so -called first post -war generation of Greek poets. Among his protoli lyrics and his latest poetic collection published in September 2020 The Delts of History recorded the Occupation, The Civil War, the Cyprus issue, the April dictatorship, the transition and the ancillary political developments, until the recent pandemic.

After graduating from the Athens Law School, He published his first poetic collection (the dirt road) in 1954. He also studied Sociology and Philosophy at the Sorbonne and was hired as a researcher at the French National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS). He returned to Greece in 1964 to go abroad again after April 21, 1967. He worked at UNESCO and the UN. In 1975 he returned to Greece as a lawyer. Two centralized volumes (a total of about one thousand pages) of Patricio’s poetic production (about 20 poetry collections) were published by the publishing house “Kichli”: The first in 2017, entitled Poems A ‘/ 1943-1959 and the second in 2018, entitled Poems B/ 1959-2017. His latest (to date) poetic collection, the road again, was published in 2020. Four books with his prose and five books, with his translations, works by Louis Aragon, Standal, Balzak and Paul Valery, were published. Poetic works by Titus Patricio were translated into English, French, German, Italian, Spanish, Serbian, Albanian and Romanian.

His poetic work was awarded multiple: Greek -speaking Community Award (1991), European Poetry Award of Salerno (1992), State Award for all his work (1994), Kostas Foundation Award and Helen Uranus of the Academy of Athens (2008). In 2004 the President of the Italian Republic Carlo Azeglio Ciampi We awarded him the title Cavalliere dell’ordine della Stella Soliedarità Italiana for his contribution to Greek-Italian cultural relations. In 2013 he received the Lerici Pea International Award and Medal from the President of the Italian Republic Giorgio Napolitano, in 2015 the Fondazione Roma Award and the same year in France the Max Jacob Award. In 2019, the then President of the Republic, Prokopios Pavlopoulos, awarded him the Brigadier General of the Order of Honor and in the same year by the then Minister of Culture Frank Riester the title of Officier de l’Odre des Arts et des Lettres.

Titus Patricius is a poet of ideas and everyday moments, Politician and erotic, shrewd observer of others and self -contained, relentless anthropogenic. He is at the same time “Stoic” and “Epicurean”, he doubts wisely, even for his doubts, and in his honest moderation he does not claim anything more than he has lifted a little bit. An edge of his life and our lives to see and see, as much as he can, as much as we can, a piece of truth. Titus Patricios is the wise humanist of our modern poetry who knows when “the words have their time” – “alas” writes “the heavier punishment is not to be able to find the words about what you would like to say.” He found them.
