Specifically, the 2.8 billion euros from the 3.5 billion Euros of the State’s debts concern debts to suppliers, while approximately 700 million euros are the pending tax refunds, according to ertnews.
However, the largest debts are held by hospitals, which owe 1.255 billion. euro. Insurance funds follow with 687 million. euros, the local authorities with 354 million euros and the legal entities of the general government with 298 million. euro. In particular:
- Of the 2.824 billion euros of the accumulated debts to the private sector, the 1.255 billion euros come from the hospitals. Debts to suppliers from 907 million euros in December 2022 increased to 1.319 billion. euros in December 2023 to be limited to 1.2 billion. euros last month.
- The debts of the insurance funds also registered an increase, with the total debts amounting to 687 million. euros from 525 million euro in December 2023.
- The debts of OTAs moved on an upward trajectory, reaching 354 million. euros from 321 million euros in September and 149 million euro in December 2023.
- Overdue debts of legal entities of the general government also increased, reaching 298 million. euros from 294 million euros in September and 162 million euro in December 2023.
- Pending tax refunds reached higher levels, amounting to 682 million. euros against 558 million euros in December 2023. Of these 272 million euros come from direct taxes, the 294 million euros from indirect taxes while 111 million euros belong to the category of non-tax revenues.
