In the Recovery Fund, RES water heating systems for households

The project for water heating systems from Renewable Energy Sources is included in the Recovery Fund (RES) for households.

The project is implemented within the framework of the Change Heating System and Water Heater program and promotes the improvement of the energy efficiency of households, the increase in the use of RES, the saving of financial resources from the reduction of energy consumption, as well as the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions.

The responsibility program of the Minister of Environment and Energy, Theodoros Skylakakis, has a total budget of 223,200 million. euros and joined the Recovery Fund, following a decision by the Deputy Minister of National Economy and Finance, Nikos Papathanasis.

The program includes:

• The subsidy for the purchase of a new solar water heater with modern technology at a subsidy rate of 50%. Vulnerable households, with a family income of up to 10,000 euros (or individual 5,000 euros), will be able to benefit with a 60% subsidy.
• The subsidy for the purchase of a new heating heat pump system (including the outdoor unit, fan coil, piping, hot water storage tank), at a subsidy rate of 50%.
• Subsidizing the cost of carrying out necessary additional work to install eligible equipment (eg transport costs, consumables and accessories, etc.), at rates of 50% and 60%, respectively.

A larger part of the Program Budget will be allocated to the beneficiaries in the regions of Central Macedonia and Epirus, where, based on air pollution measurements of the last five years, frequent exceeding of the maximum permissible limits of particle pollution is recorded several times a year in relation to the rest of the Regions of Greece.

With regard to social categories, the Programs concern all natural persons residing permanently in Greece, giving priority to vulnerable social groups, such as families with at least one member with special needs (PWD) and families with three or more dependent children.
