Renault will build drones in Ukraine

The French car industry Renault will build facilities in Ukraine for production drones which will be intended for the equipment of both the Ukrainian and the French Army, was reported by the French radio network Franceinfo.

Defense Minister Sebastian Lekorni announced on Friday “a completely new partnership in which a large company producing French cars will work with a French defensive small and medium -sized company to equip production lines in Ukraine to be capable of producing drones”.

In contact with Renault, the automotive industry did not respond to a French agency’s request for commentary.

According to Franceinfo, which does not provide further details of its sources, the production lines will be “a few tens or hundreds of kilometers from the front”.

These drones, whose model has not been clarified, will be used primarily by the Ukrainian army, “but we will also benefit for our French Armed Forces to have a permanent basis for regular and operational training that corresponds to reality” of the conflict in Ukraine, said Friday.

Ukraine intends to use more than 4.5 drones in 2025, which are responsible for 70% of the disasters of enemy material on the front.

The French army, who has a few thousand drones, is trying to meet his needs in this area.

For Sebastian Lekorni, the Ukrainians “are better than us in the ability to invent roads and, above all, to develop the doctrine around them.”

They will also provide their experience on how these drones use in this war.
