An increase of 0.6% noted seasonally customized GDP both in eurozone as well as the EU in the first quarter of 2025, compared to the previous quarter, according to Eurostat.
In the fourth quarter of 2024, GDP increased by 0.3% in the eurozone and by 0.4% in the EU.
Compared to the same quarter of the previous year, seasonally adapted GDP increased by 1.5% in the eurozone and 1.6% in the EU in the first quarter of 2025, after +1.2% in the eurozone and +1.4% in the EU in the previous quarter.
During the first quarter of 2025, US GDP decreased by 0.1% compared to the previous quarter (after +0.6% in the fourth quarter of 2024).
Ireland (+9.7%) recorded the largest GDP growth compared to the previous quarter, followed by Malta (+2.1%) and Cyprus (+1.3%). Recession (negative growth) recorded Luxembourg (-1.0%), Slovenia (-0.8%), Denmark and Portugal (both -0.5%).
Greece recorded zero development in the first quarter of 2025 compared to the previous one.
