The boxer Iman Celif continues to be in the spotlight, one year after their Olympic Games of Paris, as protests and doubts about its gender remain.
On the way to conquering the gold medal, in the category of lightweight medium weights in the Paris Olympics, Iman Celif has been challenged by her gender, on charges of having men’s chromosomes and that she should not fight.
The ILO had then spoke of racist attacks on her, but did not cut the reactions. The American journalist, Alan Abrahamson, who had revealed last year that the Tunisian athlete had a “man” DNA in a test in New Delhi in March 2023, allegedly leaked the results of the audit, which confirmed his revelation.
The document released has not yet been commented on by official sources, but on the sidelines of the new Salos that has erupted for Iman Celif, there was a statement from the World Federation that says it will have to go through a check to compete in its competitions.
“Iman Kelif cannot participate in the Eindhoven Box Cup women’s category (5-10 June 2025), as well as in any other World Boxing event, until he underwent genetic gender control in accordance with the federation’s regulations and procedures,” he said in the announcement.
